When I first seen the Action Packed in 1990 I was in awe. I really thought those were the cards of the future. However, after I bought my first pack, ( I want to make a note here that I never buy single packs to open any more), I noticed that they didn't fit into the hard plastic sleeves very well. It was then that they seemed to lose their luster. The funny thing is that their are a lot of cards made today that do not fit into plastic sleeves very well. Although I didn't care for the raised card very much, I still have to hand it to them, their card designs were near perfection, (See the 1992 Action Packed Rookie Update of the late "Rodney Culver" RC #24), and the backs were again very nicely laid out. Regardless, Action Packed was the hobby's first all-embossed set and in later sets they introduced 24K Gold stamped cards and later in 1997 created a Insert set called Action Packed "Diamond Studs" which featured players who wore Diamond studs and the cards had a diamond imbedded into them. Talk about your high dollar cards, this set would be it!!
