If you entered my website through the "Me" page on ebay you would know that I create my own 8 X 10 wall mounted plaques.  I was making a lot of these plaques until I discovered that Pro-Mold quite making their Rookie Card snaps, (See the 1990 Upper Deck "Sammy Sosa" #17 RC in one of the actual snaps below).  I need some of these Snaps so if you have some or know where I can get some Please, Please let me know!

My Autograph Experiences:

    1) Joey Browner, S, Minnesota:

A majority of my autographs are on 8 X 10s, but not all of them.  My wife surprised me at Christmas time by giving me an Autographed Scott Studwell Jersey and a Joey Browner Jersey.  While neither of these are game used, they still hold a lot of value to me.  There is an interesting side note to the gifts, though.   My wife sent a request to a Viking fan in California who sells a lot of Viking memorabilia on ebay, ( I had bought from him before).  She had him get Joey Browner's autograph for me at a private signing in Minneapolis.  The real catch to the story was when she sent me the URL for a current auction running on ebay.  The auction was one being run by the guy she had get Joey Browner's autograph.  The auction was for an autographed Mini Helmet, but the picture was of Joey signing a Jersey.  When I looked at the auction I had no idea that that Jersey was mine.  It wasn't until Christmas day when I opened the box containing the Jersey that I also seen a copy of the picture that was on ebay, (See the picture below).  The jersey I seen Joey signing on ebay was mine!!  Talk about a Christmas gift!!!

2) James Lofton, WR, Green Bay, Oakland, Buffalo:

This has to be my most memorable Autograph experience.  And to tell you the truth I don't seek autographs all that much.  My wife and I were coming home from a vacation in Phoenix, Arizona when I noticed a tall man stuffing his bag into the overhead storage bin on the American Airlines flight home.  I knew right away who it was. It was James Lofton, former WR of the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders. I really wanted to go up and meet him, but really didn't want to bother him.  Well, wife didn't mind.  She walked right up to the first class area and spoke with James. James, told her to have me come up front once the plane took off.  Once in flight, I did just that. James was extremely pleasant to talk to and was very nice.  As a bonus, this story was included in the Beckett April 2000 Football Price Guide  #126, (I think....I'm doing this from memory).

3) Larry Tearry, C, Detroit:

I just recently I received an e-mail from someone who noticed my website and wanted to know if I had any cards for the Former Detroit Lion Center, Larry Tearry.  Now, every once in a while I get an opportunity to make a real good trade with another collector, but this was different.  This collector was just looking for some cards for a friend of his.  His friend happened to be Larry Tearry.  Upon hearing this and reading the e-mail from this person, I decided that this was a great opportunity for me to have Larry sign one of the cards.  I had 7 of them and decided that I would give 6 of the cards to him, if I could just get one mailed back to me....signed.  A week later I received the card...signed.

4) Gary Dunn, DT, Pittsburgh:

My wife and I recently went on vacation in South Florida.  We were online looking for places to stay before the trip when my wife found a bar- motel owned by former Pittsburgh, DT, Gary Dunn and Former Ram, OL, Dennis Harrah.  The bar - motel is located in Islemorada, Florida which is halfway between Key Largo and Key West, (Mile Marker 84.5 to be exact).  I did not get an opportunity to meet Gary, although I did see him there the first day. He did sign a card I brought and a T-shirt that I had bought there.  I was told that Dennis Harrah had moved back to LA and was not living in Islemorada anymore, however the bar was still decorated with many of his memorabilia.  I would like to point out that the food at this bar was some of the best I have ever tried.  The "OV Wings" were the best Chicken Wings I have ever had.   My wife and I had 4 orders of wings in 3 days. If you are ever in the Florida Keys, I would suggest you check out Gary Dunn's OV Bar & Motel, (OV = Ocean View).

5) Troy Vincent, CB, Philadelphia:

My wife and I are currently working on the east coast. I was fortunate that it was close enough to the Philadelphia metro area to attend this year's Philly Fan Fest. The Philly Fan Festival is a way the Philadelphia fans can come meet their Favorite Eagle.  For me, it was a chance to meet some of the Leagues best coverage guys. In particular, Mr. Troy Vincent.

6) Derrick Burgess, LB, Philadelphia:

While at the Philly Fan Fest I was able to play basketball with Derrick Burgess. Need I say, that this game wasn't close.  Derrick was a lot of fun. He made the 5 minute hoops game really entertaining. For the record, he cheated.

7) Brian Dawkins, S, Philadelphia:

One last player, I was really glad I had the opportunity to meet while at the Philly Fan Fest was the Eagles ball-hawking free spirit, better known as Brian Dawkins.

8) Art Still, DE, Kansas City:

The picture above is of my wife, Maria, Cameron and former Chiefs DE, Art Still. We met Art at a fund-raiser in Wichita this past fall.  Cameron doesn't like the loud sports-bar setting yet. Too loud or maybe that's just his Dad!!
