Well, Skybox had to have their own Super Premium name brand and in 1993 they got it. The name they chose was nothing more than Skybox Premium. I have to hand it to them, I can't find one lousy set. All of their 90s releases were full of color, character and completely new. My favorite Skybox set is the 1996 series. I liked the way the card moved from a color photo into the team colors in the upper right-hand corner, (See the 1996 Skybox Premium "Scottie Graham" #97 below). Skybox Premium is one of my favorite sets to get year in and year out . I can't wait to get my hands on the newest set. When I finally bought the 1998 Skybox set online. I had mixed feelings for it. I like the photography well enough, but what was that jibberish on the back of the Rookie cards? "Yo Dude!", "Whats up Dog!" Who wrote this crap? Definitely a step in the wrong direction. Sounds as if Snoop Doggy Dog has himself a new job title.....Skybox football card text editor!! However, the Certified Autograph inserts from that set are very nice, (See the 1998 Skybox Premium "Sean Dawkins" #18 below). I've always been a fond admirer of the the embossed stamp and the player standing out from the background is a nice touch.
