Wow!! What can you say about this brand. Brilliant!! I really enjoy the Upper Deck Super Premium brand, SP for short. It seems that this set, since its first year in 1993, has developed sort of a cult following in the hobby that hasn't been equaled since Topps. That has been a long time. I really didn't care for the 1996 SP Rookie cards, but the base cards were awesome, (See the 1996 SP #116 Orlando Thomas below). The 1996 SP series seemed to take the Playoff TekChrome to a new level. The 1995 SP set also remains one of my favorite SP sets. The photography that Upper Deck uses for its SP title is superb and the pictures they display aren't usually seen on any other competitors cards. Both the 1996 and 1995 SP sets remain on my all-time base sets list, (#5 and #12, respectively). The 1998 SP series has a BV that may never come down. Although throw away the M&M boys and its just your ABOVE AVERAGE set! The SPx series is also very attractive. I can't help but think that I'm handling a high dollar set each time I get these cards out to look at them. I really like the die-cut design, high-tech look of the cards, (See the 1997 SPx "Thurman Thomas" #11 below), and the info on the back is more than sufficient the feed my stat-happy self!! Although its the inserts that everyone truly chases the SPx series is something really special. Pat yourself on back Upper Deck you truly have a gem here!!!5,12
